Investing.com — The UK government is considering requiring households that use only streaming services, such as Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) and Disney+, to pay the BBC license fee, according Bloomberg News.

Other options under discussion include introducing a specific tax on streaming services or allowing the BBC to use advertising.

The review comes as the government explores funding models for the public broadcaster, with its current charter set to expire at the end of 2027.
