On Saturday night, No. 7 USC women’s basketball dominated No. 8 Ohio State at home. What was supposed to be a top ten showdown turned into a blowout, as the Trojans routed the Buckeyes 84-63.
USC is now 21-2 overall on the season, and 11-1 in Big Ten play. The Trojans are in second place in the Big Ten standings, behind only undefeated and No. 1 ranked UCLA. The two teams will meet on Thursday night at Galen Center in a massive showdown.

Impressive nature of the victory
Rest disadvantage didn’t make a difference
USC had to play 4 games in 10 days. The Trojans had to fly from LA to Iowa to Wisconsin+back to LA.
Ohio State didn’t have to travel for this game, having faced UCLA on Wednesday.
Trojans really powered through tonight.
Now they can really rest for the next 60 hours. Earned it— USC Trojans Wire (@TrojansWire) February 9, 2025
A national perspective
Big bounce-back win for USC tonight over #8 Ohio State.
Freshman Kennedy Smith had a great night with 13 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. Was also 3-of-3 from deep.
Very productive outing from Kiki Iriafen as well.
Trojans out-rebounded the Buckeyes 62-30.
