The opening stretch of the NCAA women’s tournament reaches its conclusion on Monday.
The final game of the night delivered a potential big blow to No. 1 USC when star sophomore JuJu Watkins went down with an apparent knee injury. She was carried off the court early in the game against No. 9 Mississippi State.

Earlier in the day, No. 1 Texas, No. 1 UConn, No. 2 NC State and No. 3 Oklahoma all won in dominant fashion before No. 4 Maryland and No. 5 Alabama upped the excitement level with a double-overtime thriller, with the Terps eking out a victory. No. 3 LSU and No. 3 UNC also advanced into the Sweet 16.
