Battlefield 6 will launch in the next 14 months

- Battlefield games traditionally launch in late October and early November
EA’s latest financial report reveals that the currently untitled Battlefield 6 will launch by March 31, 2026. “EA unveiled Battlefield Labs, a new initiative allowing player-driven testing and innovation ahead of the franchise’s expected fiscal year 2026 release,” the company said.
EA’s fiscal year 2026 runs between April 1, 2025, and April 1, 2026, so we’ll be diving into Battlefield Studio’s upcoming shooter sometime in the next 14 months.
This week, EA announced Battlefield Labs, a community project that will give select players a chance to test and give feedback on various parts of Battlefield 6 via playtests. You can sign up for the tests now, even if you only play on console, as Battlefield labs will be available across Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
“It is a space for play and exploration, an environment where we can test concepts and mechanics with our players before we release them publicly,” Battlefield Studios says. “Our community is at the heart of Battlefield; their feedback is crucial in helping us know what to prioritize, what to improve, and what feels like an authentic Battlefield experience.”
We also received a ten-second gameplay tease for the upcoming game, which showed that Battlefield 6 will be more akin to Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 in style, bringing the franchise back to a modern setting. The destruction physics looked awesome in the clip, despite it being pre-alpha footage.
Little is known about Battlefield 6 so far, but Battlefield Studios has confirmed that the class system will return, and we’ll be playing on maps “more akin to previous Battlefields.” I have three things I want to see in Battlefield 6 — such as the return of DLC achievements.
